Team Members

AgriSource employs full time research, project management, and administrative support staff at its office in Bangkok. We retain representatives in Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and India. AgriSource also has a well-established network of consultants based in Asia, North America, Europe, and other regions to manage selected projects and activities.

Mr. Timothy Welsh, Director, has worked in international marketing and agribusiness development in Asia since 1982 and has worked and resided in Thailand since 1987. Prior to founding AgriSource in 1989, he worked as International Marketing Director for the U.S. Dry Pea and Lentil Council and as a merchant for Cargill Inc. in the U.S. Mr. Welsh holds degrees in Agricultural and Resource Economics and Animal Science from Oregon State University. He has also completed several advanced degree courses in Agricultural Economics at Oregon State and studied at Lincoln University, New Zealand.

Nida "Aoy" Sombatpiboon, Aoy is a director and co-owner of AgriSource. She joined AgriSource full-time in 1992 as the Administrative Director and has been instrumental in the success of the business. AgriSource's blend of Asian and Western management, which has attracted customers, collaborators, and key staff from both cultures, can be largely attributed to Aoy's patience, dedication, local insights, and practical business skills. Aoy's education and work experience prior to AgriSource were in art, design, and print media publications.

Dr. Dee Richmond, General Manager, has been involved in international food market development activities and market research for more than 25 years. She has lived and worked in Southeast Asia for more than 20 years, first in Singapore and now in Thailand. Her areas of expertise are the marketing of high value foods and working with importers and food retailers throughout the Region. Dr. Richmond has served as a policy analyst with the Foreign Agricultural Service in Washington D.C., the Assistant Agricultural Trade Officer with the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office in Singapore, a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the National University of Singapore, Managing Director of D. Richmond and Associates Pte Ltd in Singapore, and Deputy Director of Food Export USA — Northeast in Philadelphia. She received a B.S. in Business Administration from Kansas State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics (Food Marketing) from Cornell University.

Ms. Hataithip Nuntiya, Operations Manager, has worked in market research and economic analysis since 1990. Prior to joining AgriSource in 1999, she worked with Development Services Co., Ltd., a marketing research company in Thailand. She later worked with Manager Information Services Co., Ltd, as Analysis Division Manager. Ms. Hataithip's responsibilities at AgriSource include managing the day to day operations of the company to ensure the high quality levels that clients have come to expect are maintained. Ms. Hataithip continues to be extensively involved with a wide range of market research and economic studies covering the food and agriculture industry throughout Southeast Asia. She received an MBA from Wollongong University in Australia and a BBA in Finance and Banking from Assumption University, Bangkok.

Mr. Howard Hill, Senior Project Manager has worked in the food and agricultural sector his entire career. Prior to joining AgriSource in 2004, he developed and managed the agricultural lime division of Ravensdown Fertiliser Cooperative, New Zealand, for 14 years, and operated his own farming business for 10 years. These positions have given him experience in project and strategic management, operations, marketing and sales, and financial management. At AgriSource, Mr. Hill has been involved in developing strategic and detailed business plans for clients in the agricultural sector, and providing technical and management support to other company projects. Mr. Hill received a BS Degree in Agricultural Science and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Commerce, both from Lincoln University in New Zealand.

Ms. Apinna Srimode completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology at Kasetsart University. She subsequently worked at Gallothai Co., Ltd. as Assistant R&D Manager. She left this position upon receiving a scholarship from the Food Valley Ambassador Program to study for a Master of Science Degree in Food Safety at Wageningen University, The Netherlands. While studying for her Masters, she completed a one-year internship at PuracBiochem BV in the Department of Applied Food Preservation. Ms. Srimode has also lived and worked in New Zealand. At AgriSource, her primary responsibilities are managing marketing and technical activities for the U.S.A. Dry Pea and Lentil Council and U.S. Dry Bean Council.

Mr. Tirapat Chernprateep, Senior Project Manager, previously worked in beverage marketing for Pornthip Co., Ltd, the distributor of Beer Chang, the top-selling Thai beer brand. At AgriSource, he has been handling a wide range of projects related to food and agribusinesses including supplying clients with regular production, market, and trade information about Southeast Asia's livestock and feedstuff sectors. He has also completed a number of marketing research projects on Southeast Asia's food and agriculture industries. Mr Tirapat is also a part of AgriSource team managing foreign market development activities for the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council and the USA Dry Bean Council. Mr. Tirapat received a MBA from Strayer University in USA and a Master of Economics from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He received his BA in Economics from Thammasat University in Thailand.

Mr. Pornsin Saelim, Accountant, joined AgriSource in 2006. He previously worked as an accountant for several Thai companies. Mr. Pornsin is responsible for all company accounting matters. He received his BA in accounting from Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin Borpitpimuk Chakrawad Campus in Thailand.

Ms. Pornnicha Sathujarun, Project Manager, joined AgriSource in 2007 after working several years as a staff member at the School of Economics, Bangkok University and also as School Manager and Headmistress at private language schools. Ms. Pornnicha is responsible for project coordination and implementation of activities for the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council and the USA Dry Bean Council. Her responsibilities include managing all aspects of domestic and international trade shows, technical workshops and seminars, and marketing and promoting U.S. agricultural products including dry peas, chickpeas, beans and lentils to the food and beverage industry in the Southeast Asian regional market. She received her BA in General Management from Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University in Thailand.

Ms. Surisa Taechawiratchon, Administrative Assistant, joined AgriSource in August 2011. She is responsible for all company administration matters. She previously worked with Bumrungrad International Hospital as a Laboratory Coordinator. She also has several years of other secretarial experience. She graduated with BA in English major from Ramkhamhaeng University in 1999.
